U.S. SECRETARY OF EDUCATION MIGUEL CARDONA: CALLS ON GOVERNORS TO ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE
In response to the November 2022 launch of the New Jersey Partnership for Student Success, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona congratulates the New Jersey Department of Education and Governor Phil Murphy for their leadership in bringing the mission of the NPSS to the state level. This three-year initiative calls for the addition of 5,000 caring adults to serve as mentors, tutors, student success coaches, wraparound service coordinators,
and post-secondary transition coaches across the state.
Secretary Cardona calls on governors across the country to accept this challenge as well. When asked why the Department of Education is so excited about this home-grown, local effort the Secretary replied: “It’s simple. Because we know that strong relationships and human connections can make all the difference in learning.”
